Measure "W" and "Z" Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee

The Westmorland Union Elementary School District proudly serves the city of Westmorland and the surrounding rural and agricultural areas by providing educational programs to about 323 students TK through eighth grade.  On June 7 , 2022, our community supported Measures “W”  and Measure "Z" and the issuance of $7,500,000 in general obligation bonds to "build a gymnasium at Westmorland Elementary School for school and community use; upgrade outdated heating, ventilation, and electrical systems; and repair, construct, acquire classrooms, sites and equipment."

The Governing Board of the Westmorland Union Elementary School District is seeking citizens of Westmorland to serve on an independent citizens’ oversight committee to oversee bond proceeds & expenditures, review audit reports, and ensure that spending is consistent with Measure “W” and Measure "Z" guidelines.

Applicants must commit to a two-year term of service and reside or own property within the Westmorland Union Elementary School District boundaries. Membership is voluntary, without compensation, and members must be 18 years of age. Employees, vendors, contractors, consultants, or WUESD officials are not eligible for appointment to the Committee.

The Committee will meet quarterly, with possible meetings being conducted during the lunch hour, in the evenings, after work hours, and open to the public. Dates and times to be determined.
