UPDATE: We are thankful to report that no damage was sustained to Westmorland Elementary School. Ms. Chaidez, our M&O Supervisor, inspected the school and confirmed that there was no damage.
We also checked the junior high classrooms that were in the closest proximity to the fire and there is no smell of smoke in the classrooms. However, maintenance staff will be changing all AC filters on the junior high campus tomorrow before students arrive.
Electricity remains on, and school will be open tomorrow, Monday, May 18, 2026.
