A Community Senior Event is scheduled for Friday, April 24, and will feature a Dental Van offering services to patients of all ages. Available treatments include cleanings, fluoride applications, and X-rays. The van will operate from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We also invite all students and staff to continue the celebration by wearing blue or an Autism Awareness shirt to school tomorrow, as April 2nd is Autism Awareness Day. Let’s fill our campus with blue as we celebrate and support our amazing students!

IID and Citizens Energy Corporation Celebrate Community Partnership with $44,500 Local Investment
Through the Community Benefit Micro-Projects Program, Westmorland Union Elementary School District was awarded $7,500 to purchase a custom book vending machine for student use. The project is intended to promote literacy, encourage positive reading habits, and create an engaging way to reward student achievement, benefiting students, families, and the broader school community.
“We appreciate this investment in our school community,” said Ana Perez of Westmorland Union Elementary School District. “This type of funding helps support projects that may be modest in size but meaningful in impact for our students and families.”
District Superintendent Rauna Fox added, “The school district extends its sincere thanks to IID and to Citizens for the generous donation of a book vending machine. This innovative resource will promote literacy by allowing students to earn books, helping to foster a love of reading and support academic success. We are grateful to IID for investing in our students and our community. This donation will have a lasting have a lasting impact by encouraging reading and recognizing student achievement.”
Funds for these two community investment programs come from Citizens through its Upgrade Investment/Low Income Energy Assistance Fund, in support of IID’s major S-transmission line project that strengthens the District’s energy infrastructure.
